My approach to woodturning is to showcase the creative genius of Mother Nature.  Beneath the bark and hidden from view, lie some of the most spectacular effects imaginable.  Natural contortion of growth, fungus, and insect attack can intersect to create incredible masterpieces.  My objective is to display this art effectively as possible.  To that end, the lines of the object are kept uncomplicated so not to distract from what mother nature has already created.

This website displays the main elements of my body of work over the past twenty-five years. I have been involved in various forms of woodworking for most of my life, from precision scale model airplanes and decoy carving to furniture and cabinet making. In addition, my education as a mechanical engineer and my experience as a tool and die maker and tool engineer are of considerable benefit in the technical aspects of woodturning.
